Article I – Name

The name of the club is The Monadnock Beekeepers Association (MBA).

Article II – Purpose and Objectives of the Club

  • Serve as a resource for local beekeepers.

  • Educate the community about the joys, skills, and fruits of beekeeping.

  • Foster interactions with the agricultural community and other beekeeping organizations.

  • Provide an outlet for the membership to sell member-produced honey and other hive products.

  • Recruit new members.


Article III – Membership

Any person who is regularly enrolled in the club and pays dues is eligible.

A member shall be considered in good standing when:

  • The member demonstrates interest and actively participates in the club's affairs.

  • The member pays dues regularly and acts in a manner consistent with the club's ideals and bylaws.


Article IV – Governance

The officers of the association shall be the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

The President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer shall serve for 1 year.

The President may not succeed themself for more than two (2) successive terms. They may be re-elected any time after a retirement of one (1) year.


Article V – Meetings

Regular club meetings shall be held on the 1st Thursday of every month.

Nominations for officers shall be at the August and September meetings.

Election of officers shall be at the October meeting.


Article VI – Fiscal Year

The fiscal year shall be the calendar year. Any member or members may inspect the club's books and records at any reasonable time.


Article VII – Dues

Membership dues are due on January 1st, with a grace period extending to the first Thursday in March. New members between September 1st and December 31st will have their dues applied to the following year. The amount of dues is to be recommended by the officers, subject to the approval of the club members.


Article VIII – Amendments

The bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of paid members present and voting at any regular meeting, provided the proposed amendment shall have been submitted to the officers in sufficient time for written notice of the proposed amendment to be mailed to each member at least 15 days before the date of said meeting.
